Harness the power of Flexito OmniAI to maintain seamless communication with your audience on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Even after the 24-hour interaction window closes, you can keep your customers engaged through strategic notification topics. Discover how to effectively create and manage these notifications to enhance your marketing efforts.

For meta channels like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, there is a 24-hour window during which you can contact users following their interaction. After this period, you can no longer send them messages or automate communications.

To address this limitation, Facebook has introduced notification features. These allow you to send messages to users after they have subscribed, enabling you to continue automations beyond the 24-hour window.

Learn more about these notifications here:

How to Create Notification Topics in Flexito OmniAI

Within your bot, navigate to “Content” and then select “Notification Topic.”

To start a new notification topic, click on “New Topic.”

Types of Notification Topics

Facebook permits two types of notification topics to be sent to users.

  1. One Time Notifications (OTN) - Sent only once

  2. Recurring Notifications - Sent at regular intervals

Both notification types require user consent. Users must explicitly subscribe before you can send these notifications.

One Time Notifications (OTN)

To set up an OTN, click “New Topic” and choose “ONCE” as the type.

After setting it up, click Save.

Before sending an OTN, users must subscribe. To manage subscriptions:

Create a “Send Message” node, click on Notification Message, and choose the “OTN Request” option.

Select the topic to send, add a test message, and send it to the user. When they click “Notify Me,” you can subscribe them to a sequence to send the OTN as needed.

Recurring Notifications

Click on “New Topic” and choose “RECURRING” from the frequency options.

To subscribe users to recurring notifications, create a Send Message node, select Notifications, and then choose “Daily Notification Topic.”

When users click “Get Messages,” you can subscribe them to a sequence that sends recurring messages at your chosen intervals.

How to Send Notification Messages

To dispatch notifications (both OTN and recurring), create a Send Message node, select Notifications, and choose “Send Notification Message.”

Select the desired topic to send. Once selected, the subsequent message should include the notification content. For example:

The final send message node in this flow contains the content for users, while the middle node signals Facebook that this is a notification.
