Enhance your customer engagement by creating personalised welcome messages that seamlessly integrate with your Facebook Ads. By setting up these messages, you can guide users directly from your ads into meaningful interactions, whether on Messenger or Instagram. This guide will walk you through setting up and connecting welcome messages to your Facebook Ads, ensuring a smooth and effective communication strategy.

Verify All Connections Before You Start

Ensure these connections are properly set up before you create a welcome message:

  • Facebook Ads Account — Ensure it's linked under the Ads Management section

  • Facebook Business Manager — Confirm it's connected under the e-Commerce tab

  • Correct Facebook Page — Verify in the Bots section

  • Ad Manager — Ensure all pages are within the same Business Manager as your Ads Accounts

Facebook Business Manager — Confirm it's connected under the e-Commerce tab

Correct Facebook Page — Verify in the Bots section

Ad Manager — Ensure all pages are within the same Business Manager as your Ads Accounts

Make sure all four connections are active before moving forward.

Create a Welcome Message

  • Access your Bot and go to the Tools section

  • Find the Facebook Ad Messaging feature and click it to open Welcome Messages

Click on + Message to create a new welcome message.

Provide a name for your message (e.g., Welcome One).

Choose the channel: either Messenger or Instagram.

Select the type of message you want to create:

  • Text — allows buttons and quick replies

  • Video — a standalone video

  • Image — a standalone image

  • Card — an image with additional content

Compose the body of your message.

Optionally, you can add:

  • Buttons

  • Quick Replies

After composing your message, click Save and then Sync.

  • Open Facebook Ads Manager and refresh the page

  • Create or open a Campaign (Traffic objective is suitable)

  • Go to the Ad Set level

  • Locate Messaging Destinations and select Messenger

Move to the Ad level and click on New Traffic Ad.

Scroll down to the Messaging Template section.

  • Select Use Existing or Create New

  • Click on Partner App and then Select Flow

Choose the app, which may appear as Flexito OmniAI App or Chatbot App, depending on your account.

Select the welcome message flow you previously created (e.g., Welcome One).

  • Click Send Preview to test it — the message should appear in your Messenger.

Optionally Connect a Button to a Subflow This feature lets a button in the welcome message initiate a specific chatbot flow.

Generate the Payload:

  • In Flexito OmniAI, navigate to Tools and then Facebook Ads Payload

  • Click + Create New to generate a payload

  • Copy the generated payload code

Link the Payload to a Subflow:

  • Open the subflow you wish to trigger

  • Add a message or action (e.g., "Subflow has been sent from Flexito OmniAI")

  • Click Publish

Add a Reply Button to the Welcome Message:

  • Return to Tools and go to Facebook Ads Messaging

  • Open your welcome message and click Add a Reply Button

  • Set the button text (e.g., Click Here)

  • Paste the Facebook Ads Payload into the payload field

  • Click Save and then Sync

Check in Ads Manager:

  • Refresh Ads Manager

  • Return to Partner App, select your chatbot app, and choose the message flow

  • The button should now appear in the preview

  • Click Preview in Messenger — pressing the button should activate the connected subflow
